COME NOW | Isaiah 1-12 (September 7-13) | Come Follow Me

What if Isaiah isn’t a book you have to “get through”—but a collection of beautiful pictures that help you see the heart of Jesus Christ? This week on Don’t Miss This, Dave and Grace dive into Isaiah 1–12 and explore some of the most powerful images and promises in the Old Testament. Isaiah can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to. Instead of approaching it as one long, chronological story, we can see it as a collection of visions, poems, sermons, and “Polaroids of Jesus”—small snapshots that reveal the character and heart of God. Together, we talk about: • “Come now, and let us reason together” • What it means for sins like scarlet to become white as snow • Why God invites us to come to Him NOW • The mountain of the Lord and the power of the temple • Turning swords into plowshares—and transforming the difficult parts of ourselves into something better • What we try to hide and the Savior’s ability to wash us clean • Emmanuel: the promise that God is with us • Finding light when life feels dark or uncertain • The promise of a coming day when we can say, “Not anymore” • Recognizing the excellent things God has already done in our lives Throughout these chapters, Isaiah reminds us that judgment is never the end of the story. Alongside the warnings, there is always hope. There is cleansing. There is redemption. And there is Jesus Christ. Whatever feels permanent, whatever you wish you could undo, and whatever uncertainty you’re facing, the invitation of the Lord remains: Come now. Because God is with you, He is working, and the story isn’t finished yet. This week, as you study Isaiah 1–12, look for the pictures. Look for the hope alongside the judgment. And most importantly, look for what each chapter teaches you about the heart and character of God.
