This week the timeline piece is the word Lamentations. At the top of my book of Lamentations I wrote that the name of this book in the Hebrew Bible is “How.” Three of the five chapters contained in this book begin with that word. It’s almost as if the writing was asking, “How did this happen? How did you forget about us? How did what was sacred become trite?” The answer to this lament is found in the third chapter. It’s a lesson taught by the man “who has seen affliction.” I have seen affliction. I wonder if you have as well. This week in Come, Follow Me we will be studying Jeremiah and Lamentations. Here is what you have to look forward to:
Compassion that will not fail
Mercies that are new every morning
Bitter or Better
We love studying with you,
David and Emily
